Just ahead of FOX’s Upfront event, where the studios try to sell advertising spots to companies for linear and streaming platforms, FOX has revealed that it renewed “The Floor” for two more seasons.

“The Floor” is a trivia battle in which 81 contestants stand on 81 squares on a massive game show floor, competing for a whopping grand prize.    In the upcoming seasons, the Floor size will be increased to 100 squares and 100 contestants.  It is hosted by Rob Lowe, who is also a producer on the show.

Following the success of the first season, which pulled in 4.4 million viewers across multiple platforms after the first seven days of release.  Making it the network’s most-streamed game show ever and the network’s most-watched Tuesday unscripted debut in more than 13 years.

Michael Thorn, President of the Fox Television Network, said in a statement:

“Fans loved the first season of The Floor so much that we’ve ordered two more seasons of this breakthrough game show with plans already underway to make our epic battle of the brains even bigger and bolder.  It’s also been a massive win to have a huge star like Rob Lowe as our host, and both our viewers and competitors can’t wait to see him back in action.”

With Rob Lowe adding:

“I couldn’t be happier with The Floor phenomenon and the opportunity to create more unscripted projects with my partners at Fox,”

Additionally, FOX Entertainment has entered a first-look deal with Lowe to jointly develop unscripted series to air on FOX. Series launched under the agreement would be produced by FOX’s in-house unscripted studio, FOX Alternative Entertainment.

“The Floor” is produced by Eureka Productions, Talpa and BiggerStage. John de Mol, Mark van Achterberg, Chris Culvenor, Paul Franklin, Eden Gaha, Wes Dening, Sean O’Riordan and Shane Byrne serve as executive producers. Anthony Carbone serves as the showrunner.

New episodes of “The Floor” will premiere on the FOX linear channel. Due to a multi-year deal with Disney, new episodes are available to stream the following day on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States. The previous season is also available to stream on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ now.

No release details on when these two new seasons will be released have been confirmed yet.
