First Look At Doctor Who Spin-Off “The War Between The Land And The Sea” Cast
The BBC has released a first look image of the cast for the upcoming “Doctor Who” spin-off series,”The War Between The Land And The Sea”.
This new series will tell the story of what happens when a fearsome and ancient species emerges from the ocean, dramatically revealing themselves to humanity, an international crisis is triggered. With the entire population at risk, UNIT step into action as the land and sea wage war.
The new series will see Ruth Madeley and Colin McFarlane return to the Whoniverse alongside the previously announced Russell Tovey, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jemma Redgrave, and Alexander Devrient, in photos from a table read that were released today.
This is the first “Doctor Who” spin-off series between the BBC and Disney+. The show is now entering production and is being created by “Doctor Who” Showrunner and Executive Producer Russell T Davies, who has written the series with Executive Producer Pete McTighe (A Discovery of Witches, The Pact, Doctor Who).
In addition to Russell T Davies and Pete McTighe, Executive Producers for Bad Wolf are Joel Collins, Phil Collinson, Julie Gardner, and Jane Tranter. Produced with the support of the Welsh Government via Creative Wales.
The five-part series will be directed by Dylan Holmes Williams, who has previously directed two “Doctor Who” Season One episodes – 73 Yards and Dot and Bubble.
The series is produced by Bad Wolf with BBC Studios for the BBC and Disney Branded Television, and will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK, and on Disney+ around the world. The latest season of “Doctor Who”, along with the 60th anniversary specials are also available to stream now on the BBC iPlayer and on Disney+ internationally.
