First Look At “Doctor Who” Christmas Special
While all the attention right now is on the “Doctor Who” 60th Anniversary specials, which has seen David Tennant return as the Fourteen Doctor for three adventures, the BBC has released two new images from the upcoming “Doctor Who” Holiday special, which is called “The Church on Ruby Road”.
In this new special, Ncuti Gatwa takes charge of the TARDIS as the Fifteenth Doctor in this epic Christmas special, he soon encounters Ruby Sunday, who is played by Millie Gibson, as they embark on their first adventure together.
No other details on the upcoming special have been revealed and it’s unlikely we will know too much more until it comes out, but this new holiday special will be the perfect time for any new viewer wanting to jump into the franchise, since with a brand new Doctor and companion is always a soft reboot on the show, just ahead of the new season arriving in 2024.

Ncuti Gatwa will be introduced as the brand new Doctor in the third 60th Anniversary special, which will be released on Saturday, 9th December 2023, on the BBC in the UK and Ireland, and on Disney+ worldwide. The first special, “The Star Beast”, is available to stream now and “Wild Blue Yonder” will be released this coming Saturday.
It was recently revealed that filming is currently underway on next year’s holiday special, which will star “Derry Girls” Nicola Coughlan.
This brand new holiday special will be available to watch on Christmas Day in the UK and Ireland on BBC One and on iPlayer and everywhere else, it will also be available to stream on Disney+ around the world.
