Disney has announced details on the second season of the popular animated series, “Firebuds”, which is going to be called, “Firebuds: Forest Rescue”. The announcement was made by Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, during a “Disney Junior & Friends Playdate” event at Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim, California.
From Emmy Award-winning creator and executive producer Craig Gerber (Disney’s “Elena of Avalor” and “Sofia the First”), “Firebuds” follows a group of friends, all children of first responders, who embark on adventures to help their community and learn what it truly means to be a hero. Building off the success of the series’ debut, season two features a forest rescue theme and finds the Firebuds crew back with some new friends and equipped with new gear to use in the great outdoors. Throughout the new season, the Firebuds embark on daring forest rescues while continuing to help their neighbors in Gearbox Grove.
The lead voice cast includes Declan Whaley as Bo, Terrence Little Gardenhigh as Flash, Vivian Vencer as Violet, Lily Sanfelippo as Axl, JeCobi Swain as Jayden, and Caleb Paddock as Piston. Lou Diamond Phillips and Yvette Nicole Brown also star as co-fire chiefs, Chief Bill Bayani and Chief Faye Fireson, respectively.
Emmy Award-nominated Beau Black is the series songwriter, and Emmy Award winner Frederik Wiedmann is the composer. “Firebuds” is produced by Disney Television Animation.
The first season of “Firebuds” is available to stream now on Disney+.
The new series will be released in November on Disney Junior and Disney+
