This week, Disney has been going through its second wave of job cuts as the company goes through a cost-cutting plan to get Disney’s finances back on track to focus on profitability.    The first wave of cuts happened last month , which is expected to take the total to around 4000 jobs cut, with a final wave of job cuts expected later this summer, which will result in a total of 7000 of jobs being cut, which is about 3.2% of Disney’s total employees.

Throughout the week, Disney has been letting people go, and in the final stage of cuts, Deadline has revealed more cuts from the end of the week.

Disney Branded Television’s VP of Casting and Talent Relations, Cornelia Frame will be leaving the company as casting is going to be added to the role of EVP Casting Sharon Klein, who already oversees the casting teams of ABC Entertainment, 20th Television, ABC Signature, 20th Television Animation, Walt Disney Television Unscripted, Hulu Originals and Freeform.   Cornelia has been working at Disney for over 18 years and has worked with a who’s who of talent who have gone through the Disney Channel including Miley Cyrus, Zac Efron, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, The Jonas Brothers, Zendaya, Olivia Rodrigo and many others.

It’s also been revealed that the VP, Business Affairs at ABC Signature, Roger Kirman, will also be retiring after 20 years with the company.  During that time, he has worked on “Desperate Housewives”, “Lost”, and “Criminal Minds”.

The layoffs this week have also resulted in a number of changes of executives within Disney, taking on more responitbilies.
