In 2025, Star Wars fans will have plenty of new original content to enjoy on Disney+, including two live-action series and an animated show.

While we currently only know about three major Star Wars releases in 2025, that doesn’t mean that’s all we are going to get, since in previous years, if there are any additional shorts, specials or making of documentaries, those aren’t advertised, until much closer to the release date.

Here’s the rundown:

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

“Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” follows the journey of four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet and then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home—and meeting unlikely allies and enemies—will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.

The final two episodes of “Skeleton Crew” will be released on Disney+ on Tuesday, 7th January 2025, and Tuesday, 14th January 2025.

Andor: A Star Wars Story – Season 2

While the first season of “Andor” followed a year in Cassian Andor’s life and was set about five years before the events of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”, the forthcoming season will bridge the remaining gap. Covering four years told in three-episode arcs, “Andor” Season 2 follows Cassian as he evolves into a leader for the emerging Rebel Alliance. Cassian may have been a reluctant hero before, but the Andor we’ll meet next year is fueled by a higher purpose in the fight for freedom against the Empire.

“Andor” season two will return on Disney+ on April 22nd, 2025,

Star Wars: Visions – Volume 3

The third volume of this animated short anthology series returns to where it all began with nine shorts from nine different anime studios, including returning contributors Kamikaze Douga, Kinema citrus Co., Production I.G, and TRIGGER. The next instalment will also introduce five new anime studios to the world of Star Wars — ANIMA (in co-production with Kamikaze Douga), David Production, Polygon Pictures, Project Studio Q, and WIT Studio — to further demonstrate the diversity and creativity of Japanese animation.

“Visions” will return on Disney+ in 2025.
