Every National Geographic Film & Series Coming To Disney+ In 2025
In 2025, National Geographic will be bringing plenty of new documentaries to Disney+ around the world, which will feature a wide selection of topics and well-known presenters such as Chris Hemsworth, Antoni Porowski, David Blaine, Stanley Tucci, David Attenborough and Ryan Reynolds.
It’s also important to note that National Geographic will also be bringing other documentaries out throughout 2025 that have not been announced yet, especially films from the National Geographic Documentary Films division and its linear television channels,
Here’s the rundown:
Limitless with Chris Hemsworth – Season 2
In season one, Hemsworth pushed the limits of his body and mind to discover how fasting can unlock the body’s anti-aging power, how to manage stress so it doesn’t kill you, and how exposure to extreme temperatures can trigger our bodies’ own defences against the killer diseases of old age, all in a quest to live a longer, healthier life. Now, in this next instalment, he’s taking on four more epic challenges on a global journey through Nepal, Italy, Australia, and the United Kingdom to help him — and us — understand how to live not just longer, but better. LIMITLESS creators Darren Aronofsky and Ari Handel of Protozoa Pictures return to executive produce season two; Jane Root and Tom Watt-Smith are executive producers for Nutopia; and Chris Hemsworth and Ben Grayson are executive producers for Wild State.

David Attenborough: Ocean (Working Title)
National Geographic is partnering for the very first time with the world’s preeminent natural historian, Sir David Attenborough, on a feature-length documentary special about the health of the world’s oceans. Presented and authored by the 98-year-old broadcaster, will share with a global audience the story of how we can, and must, restore the glory of Earth’s vast, interconnected waters. After nearly a hundred years filming every aspect of the natural world, Attenborough delivers his most powerful message yet.
In this feature-length special, he draws on his lifetime of knowledge and experience to take us on a journey of wonder through the planet’s most spectacular undersea habitats, revealing that we are currently living in the greatest age of ocean discovery, and showing beyond doubt that it is the most important place on Earth. While Attenborough exposes the biggest problems facing our ocean, his story is one of hope, and that in front of us is an opportunity for marine life to recover on a scale no one alive has ever seen before.
Secrets of the Penguins
On the twentieth anniversary of National Geographic’s Academy-Award Winning “March of The Penguins”, “Secrets of the Penguins” changes everything we ever believed to be true. From the Emperor Penguins’ revelatory bonds of friendship to the gritty resolve of Chinstraps and Rockhoppers, and the astonishing ingenuity of the migrant penguins that reached deserts and far beyond, their incredible traditions and societies echo ours in ways we never dreamt possible – until now.
For over two years, BAFTA and Emmy Award-winning wildlife cinematographer Bertie Gregory collaborates with world leading scientists, using cutting-edge camera technology and unique access to capture three world-first episodes that resonate with our lives like never before. The three-part series is executive produced by Academy Award-winning Nat Geo Explorer at Large James Cameron.
This series will arrive on Disney+ on Earth Day in April and earlier this year, Disney released a sneak peek at the upcoming documentary.
Jaws At 50 (Working Title)
The behind-the-scenes stories of the book’s writing and the legendary tumultuous production of the film — including being over budget, over schedule, malfunctioning mechanical sharks, weather issues and sea sickness — will serve as the spine of the documentary. JAWS @ 50 (working title) will explore the world and impact of sharks today through testimonials from people who have dedicated their lives to studying and safeguarding sharks and our seas. “Jaws” gave rise to a new generation of shark aficionados, many ocean scientists, researchers, explorers, activists and die-hard fans. These experts have deepened our curiosity and understanding of sharks beyond what Benchley and Spielberg could have imagined.
Underdogs
Underdogs is an unconventional natural history series that will tell the story of the heroic underdogs of the natural world – the good, the bad and the frankly ugly.
Ryan Reynolds will narrate the entire 10-episode series, bringing his distinctive voice and humorous take to the natural world through a groundbreaking partnership that bakes humour into the storytelling from the ground up. From their hidden talents to their bold hygiene choices, unsavoury courtship rituals, devious camouflage techniques and “tough love” parenting skills, UNDERDOGS will celebrate and champion the unique and unpredictable behaviours of a little known and surprising cast of animal characters. These overlooked superstars come in all sizes, shapes and smells. They’re the outcasts and the troublemakers, brash, unsophisticated, flatulent, incontinent and often unhinged. But they’re also warriors, team players and evil geniuses. They’re out there 24-7 giving it maximum effort, keeping the natural world in working order for all.
Stanley Tucci: The Heart of Italy
The new 10-part docu-series follows the Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning actor Stanley Tucci across Italy as he unlocks the distinct flavours that define each region and discovers the rich versatility of Italy through those he meets along the journey.
Each region of Italy proudly proclaims individuality, but what binds the country together is the passion that all Italians have for good food. Tucci guides viewers to discover the real Italy — with all its complexities — through its cuisine. Across 10 episodes, he’ll travel to 10 regions, including Sicily, Trentino-Alto Adige, Veneto, Marche and Lazio. As Tucci travels to each corner of the country, he seeks out the essence of each region and its people through the food they eat.
David Blaine: Do Not Attempt
“David Blaine: Do Not Attempt”, is a cinematic journey following magician David Blaine as he chases little-known magic within our world. David is searching for real magic by tracking down incredible people across the globe and learning their closely guarded secrets in order to push his craft to the next level. In each episode, David will lead us on a labyrinthine quest through the most extraordinary cultures in search of the embedded histories, practices, and rituals that surround the skills he seeks to master. Ultimately, each episode culminates with David harnessing the skills he has learned over the course of his journey to pull off a new feat that only this iconic artist could conjure up.
