“Echo” Premieres At Number 1 On Disney+ & Hulu
Earlier this week, Marvel Studios released a brand new series, “Echo”, on Disney+ worldwide and also on Hulu in the United States.
Unlike previous Marvel Studios series, the release of “Echo” was less traditional. The show was released on both Hulu and Disney+ at the same time, plus all five episodes were dropped at once in a binge format, instead of the traditional weekly release.
The good news is that this release method seems to have paid off, since Deadline has revealed that the show has premiered at number one on both Hulu and Disney+ platforms. However, it’s important to note that no data has been announced yet, indicating how many viewers it had, and we won’t have the Nielsen numbers for at least another month.
With strong reviews and word of mouth from subscribers, plus the advertising campaign promoting the show to be mature, with appearances from Daredevil and Kingpin, it looks as though “Echo” has been a big hit so far.
The series follows Maya Lopez as she is pursued by Wilson Fisk’s criminal empire. When the journey brings her home, she must confront her own family and legacy. “Echo” stars Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, as well as Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Graham Greene and Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin in the series.
“Echo” is directed by Sydney Freeland and Catriona McKenzie. Executive producers are Kevin Feige, Stephen Broussard, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Victoria Alonso, Richie Palmer, Jason Gavin, Marion Dayre and Sydney Freeland. Co-executive producers are Jennifer L. Booth and Amy Rardin.
You can watch “Echo” now on Disney+ around the world and also on Hulu for a limited time.
