With the start of a brand new month means, unfortunately, Disney+ is forced to remove a small number of library items in the United States due to contracts made before Disney purchased 20th Century Fox.  And Disney has kicked off August by removing the 20th Century Studios film, “Drumline”, which is now available on Starz.

The film is about a cocky, naturally-gifted snare drummer from Harlem, who helps his Atlanta College marching band defeat a long-time rival in a Southern battle-of-the-bands.  It stars Nick Cannon, O’mar J. Dorsey, Zoe Saldana, and Orlando Jones.  It was directed by Charles Stone III.

The good news for Disney+ subscribers internationally, is that the film is still available since this deal with Starz only applies to the United States.

Unlike other streaming services like Netflix or Hulu, Disney+ doesn’t inform subscribers in advance of any removals, so we often won’t know a title is going to be removed until it has.  The film will return to Disney+ in the United States once the contract with Starz has expired.

What do you think of “Drumline” being removed from Disney+?  Let us know on social media!
