Following the release of the second “Doctor Who” 60th Anniversary on the BBC iPlayer in the UK and on Disney+ around the world, a new behind-the-scenes featurette has been released.

In “Wild Blue Yonder”, The TARDIS takes the Doctor and Donna to the furthest edge of adventure. To escape, they must face the most desperate fight of their lives, with the fate of the universe at stake.

The 60th anniversary specials have reunited the Fourteenth Doctor (David Tennant) and Donna Temple-Noble (Catherine Tate) for the first time since they left the show in 2010.

In the featurette, we find out how the story is designed to push them as far as they can go.  We also get to see how they filmed the clones and how much of the series uses practical effects.  The video also features interviews with the showrunner, Russell T Davies, executive producer Jane Tranter, and the special’s director, Tom Kingsley.

Check out behind the scenes featurette below:

“Doctor Who: Wild Blue Yonder” is available to stream on BBC iPlayer in the UK and on Disney+ around the world, along with last week’s special, “The Star Beast”.  The third and final 60th anniversary special will be released on Saturday 9th December 2023.
