Proudction is currently underway in Vancouver, Canada, on the next installment in the “Tron” franchise, which is called “Tron: Ares”, which follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.

The film is a follow-up to Disney’s 1982 seminal science fiction film “Tron” and the 2010 sequel, “Tron: Legacy”, both of which are available to stream now on Disney+.

This new movie is going to star Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, with Gillian Anderson.

Sean Bailey, Jeffrey Silver, Justin Springer, Jared Leto, Emma Ludbrook and Steven Lisberger are the producers, with Russell Allen serving as executive producer.

Disney has announced that “Tron: Ares” will be released in cinemas on October 10th 2025, so it’s likely this film won’t arrive on Disney+ until early 2026. Filming on the movie was delayed due to the actor’s/writer’s strike.
