Disney’s Streaming Investor Day 2020 Officially Announced
During the Walt Disney Companies Quarterly Investors Call in August, Disney CEO Bob Chapek announced that Disney would be hosting another Investors Day event in the coming months.
In an official press release regarding a restructuring of the Walt Disney Company, it was confirmed that
The Company will hold a virtual Investor Day on December 10, where it will present further details of its direct-to-consumer strategies.
At last years Investors Day event, which was held in April, Disney unveiled lots of details on its new streaming service, Disney+, including its price, its subscriber projections, global rollout plans, initial launch date and details about forthcoming Disney+ Originals.
During the next Investor Day, we will hear more about the upcoming streaming platform, Star, which will be the international version of Hulu. However, it will be different as it will only be featuring library content from its own brands such as 20th Century Studios, ABC, Searchlight etc. We also know that it will won’t be the same in all countries, but that it will be building upon the success of Disney+. In India, Disney+ Hotstar offers a tiered system of content.
At the event, we should also find out more details on the future of Hulu and ESPN+, how Disney will be building on these platforms.
With the Walt Disney Company now focused on streaming, this years virtual event will be extremely important to what content arrives on Disney+ in the future.
What will be revealed on the next Investor Day?
I am so hyped for the investors day. Excited to see what they announce. Hey Roger, I have a question. I went to the Disney investor relations website, and the page for the webcast was not there. Usually, the page is already there and the link appears a few minutes before the webcast. Are they doing the investor day on Youtube, or am I missing something? Basically I am just wondering how I can access the investor day on December 10th.
