On Christmas Day, Disney has released a new video giving us a special look at the upcoming live-action musical reimagining of the classic 1937 film.

The film stars Rachel Zegler (“West Side Story”) in the title role and Gal Gadot (“Wonder Woman”) as her Stepmother, the Evil Queen. The magical music adventure journeys back to the timeless story with beloved characters Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy.

This new video features a preview of the power ballad “Waiting on a Wish,” one of the all-new original songs from EGOT winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (The Greatest Showman).

Check out the new special look video below:

Disney’s Snow White” is directed by Marc Webb (“The Amazing Spider-Man”) and produced by Marc Platt (“The Little Mermaid”) and Jared LeBoff (“The Girl on the Train”), with Callum McDougall (“Mary Poppins Returns”) serving as executive producer, and features all-new original songs from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (“Dear Evan Hansen”).

The upcoming film will be coming to cinemas on March 21st, 2025, and it will be coming to Disney+ later in 2025.

Roger’s Take:  The new song certainly is coming across as a big power ballad, but I do wonder if this film is going to be able to overcome the general disinterest in this film following years of online hate.  “Snow White” looks like it could be an interesting take on the classic fairy tale, but it’s also one of the few classic Disney animated movies that I’m not a massive fan of, so I’d be lying if this first-look video made me more interested in it.

Are you looking forward to watching the new live-action version of “Snow White”?  Let me know on social media!
