Disney’s “Moana” Soundtrack Details Revealed
Disney has released new details on the soundtrack to the upcoming live-action reimagining of the classic animated film, “Moana”, including a preview of a brand new song from Lin-Manuel Miranda called “Along The Way”, which is out now on digital platforms.
In “Moana,” Disney’s live-action reimagining of the beloved Oscar-nominated animated adventure, Moana (Catherine Lagaʻaia) answers the Ocean’s call and, for the first time, voyages beyond the reef of her island of Motunui with the infamous demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson) on an unforgettable journey to restore prosperity to her people.
To celebrate the song’s release, a brand-new look behind the scenes at the development and recording of “Along The Way” is now available. Featuring new interviews with Lin-Manuel Miranda and filmmakers, along with Lagaʻaia, Cravalho, and Johnson, the piece celebrates the union of three iconic voices from the world of “Moana.”
Lin-Manuel Miranda said in a statement regarding the new song:
“It was such a joy to drop back into the world of ‘Moana’ again and write ‘Along The Way.’ Auliʻi and Catherine’s voices blend so beautifully, and writing for Dwayne as Maui is just pure fun. I’m grateful that we were able to create something special for this brand-new version of our wayfinder’s story.”
The “Moana” Original Soundtrack releases on June 26th, 2026, and features original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foaʻi and Mark Mancina, including the all-new song, “Along The Way.” The soundtrack will also be available in ATMOS.
