This past Sunday night, Disney won eight Screen Actors Guild Awards across all of its different studios, including 20th Television, Searchlight Pictures and FX, for its shows and films including “Only Murders In The Building”, “Shogun”, “A Real Pain” and “A Complete Unknown”.

The ceremony was hosted by Disney Legend Kristen Bell, who stars in 20th Television’s “Nobody Wants This” and took place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.   The event was live-streamed on Netflix.

Timothée Chalamet won the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role award for Searchlight Picture’s “A Complete Unknown”, which tells the story of what happened when Bob Dylan arrived in New York with his guitar and revolutionary talent, destined to change the course of American music. Forming his most intimate relationships during his rise to fame, he grows restless with the folk movement, making a controversial choice that reverberates worldwide.

Kieran Culkin won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in Searchlight Pictures “A Real Pain”, which told the story of mismatched cousins David and Benji, touring Poland to honour their grandmother. Their adventure becomes complicated as old tensions resurface while exploring their family history.

FX’s “Shogun” won four awards at the event, including:

  • Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series
  • Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series – Hiroyuki Sanada
  • Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series – Anna Sawai
  • Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series

The hit FX series is set in Japan in the year 1600, Lord Yoshii Toranaga is fighting for his life as his enemies on the Council of Regents unite against him, when a mysterious European ship is found marooned in a nearby fishing village.

While “Only Murders In The Building” won two awards, Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and Martin Short won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series.  The series is about three strangers who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth.

You can watch “Shogun”, “Only Murders In The Building” and “A Real Pain” on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ internationally.  “A Complete Unknown” will be coming to Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and Disney+ internationally later this year.
