Just ahead of the release of “Moana 2”, Disney hosted a special screening of the film at the Cineworld in Leicester Square in London, England on Sunday evening. The London skies above the iconic O2 were lit up with a spectacular Moana-themed drone show choreographed to three tracks from the all-new film soundtrack, including “Beyond,” “We’re Back” and “Can I Get A Chee Hoo?”

“Moana 2” reunites Moana and Maui three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.

The premiere was attended by Auliʻi Cravalho (voice of Moana) and Dwayne Johnson (voice of Maui), along with the movie directors, Jason Hand, Dana Ledoux Miller, David G. Derrick Jr., and producer Christina Chen. Songwriters Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear were also on hand to greet fans and celebrate the new movie.

Directed by Jason Hand, Dana Ledoux Miller and David G. Derrick Jr., and produced by Yvett Merino and Christina Chen, “Moana 2” features music by Grammy winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foa‘i, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina. Jared Bush and Miller wrote the screenplay for the film, which is executive produced by Jennifer Lee, Bush and Johnson.

“Moana 2” is coming to cinemas on Wednesday 27th November 2024. The film will be coming to Disney+ in 2025.
