Over the past few weeks, Disney has been slowly building up its new “Hularious” comedy brand with new original comedy specials, which will see one new one hour comedy special released each month on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ internationally.

The comedians signed up to deliver these new monthly one-hour comedy specials, include Jim Gaffigan, Bill Burr, Chris Distefano, Ilana Glazer, Andrew Santino, Frankie Quiñones, Ralph Barbosa, Zarna Garg, Jessica Kirson, Matteo Lane, Sebastian Maniscalco, Atsuko Okatsuka and Roy Wood Jr.

Disney has announced the “Hularious” lineup for the first year:

Jim Gaffigan: The Skinny – November 22nd 2024

Considered one of the most prolific comedians working today – 7-time Grammy nominee Jim Gaffigan provides the skinny on everything from appetite suppressants to raising teenagers.

Ilana Glazer – December 20th 2024

Ilana Glazer’s unfiltered stand-up special dives into life’s down and dirty truths, from painfully awkward high school years to navigating parenthood as a stoner mom.

Roy Woods Jr: Lonely Flowers – January 17th 2025

In this stand-up special, Roy Wood Jr explores how lack of connection has sent society spiralling into a culture full of guns, protests, rude employees, self-checkout lanes and sex parties, and why some of us would rather be alone than be connected.

Chris Distefano: It’s Just Unfortunate – February 21st 2025

Chris Distefano is trying to be the best father he can be but nowadays, words speak louder than actions, so Chris Distefano is acting with the right intentions, but not always the right moves.

And here’s the lineup for the rest of 2025:

  • Bill Burr: Drop Dead Years – March 2025
  • Jessica Kilson – April 2025
  • Matteo Lane – May 2025
  • Atsuko Okatsuka – June 2025
  • Zarna Gary – July 2025
  • Ralph Barbosa – August 2025
  • Andrew Santino – September 2025
  • Frankie Quinones – October 2025
  • Sebastian Maniscalco – November 2025

Roger’s Take: I think this idea of releasing a stand-up special each month is fantastic since it offers something completely different from the other originals, and variety is so important for subscribers.    This is also a concept that can just keep expanding, as there are so many comedians who would love to do these specials and there’s also scope to expand to international comics.
