The nominations for the 97th Oscars nominations were announced today in a live presentation from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater, which was hosted by Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang.  The nominations were streamed live on Good Morning America on ABC News Live and Disney+.

Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” was nominated for Best Animated Film and  Elton John picked up a nomination for the Best Original Song for “Never Too Late” from the Disney+ Original documentary.

Searchlight Picture had an impressive haul of nominations, with “A Complete Unknown” receiving eight nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actor.  While “A Real Pain” picked up two nominations in the Best Supporting Actor and Best Original Screenplay categories.

20th Century Studios also received nominations for “Alien: Romulus” and “Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes,” which received nods in the Best Visual Effects category.  National Geographic’s “Sugar Cane” also was nominated in the Best Documentary category.

The 97th Oscars will be held on Sunday, 2nd March 2025, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised live on ABC and Hulu and in more than 200 territories worldwide.
