The nominees for the ninth annual Critics Choice Documentary Awards have been announced and Disney has picked up thirty nominations for its films and shows across all of its studios.

Disney+ has picked up nominations for its original films, “Jim Henson Idea Man” and the upcoming documentary, “Music By John Williams”.

National Geographic continues to showcase its importance to Disney+ and Hulu, as the studio has picked up nominations for “Billy & Molly: An Otter Love Story”,  “Blink”, “The Space Race”, “Secrets of the Octopus”, “Queens” and “Sugarcane “, which leads the pack with eight nominations including in the category of Best Documentary Feature. 

ESPN also picked up a nomination for its hit series, “30 For 30”, while Onyx Collective’s “Black Twitter: A People’s History” also picked up a nomination for Best Limited Documentary.

The upcoming documentary, “Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band”, has also been nominated in the Best Music Documentary category.

The Critics Choice Association recognizes the year’s finest achievements in documentaries released in theaters, on TV and on major digital platforms, as determined by the voting of qualified CCA members.

The winners will be revealed at a gala event on Sunday, 10th November 2024 at The Edison Ballroom in Manhattan.
