Disney Hosts “Young Woman And The Sea” World Premiere
Disney held a special world premiere event for its brand-new movie, “Young Woman and the Sea,” at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on Thursday, which was attended by the cast and filmmakers. A special red carpet poolside event was held at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel prior to the screening.
“Young Woman and the Sea,” tells the extraordinary true story of Trudy Ederle, the first woman to successfully swim the English Channel. Daisy Ridley stars as the accomplished swimmer who was born to immigrant parents in New York City in 1905. Through the steadfast support of her older sister and supportive trainers, she overcame adversity and the animosity of a patriarchal society to rise through the ranks of the Olympic swimming team and complete the staggering achievement – a 21-mile trek from France to England.
Attending the event was Daisy Ridley, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Kim Bodnia, Glenn Fleshler, Jeanette Hain, Olive Abercrombie, director/executive producer Joachim Rønning, writer/producer Jeff Nathanson, and producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman.
