Disney’s president of Disney Branded Television, Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, announced during a “Disney Junior & Friends Playdate” event at Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim, California, that two holiday special episodes of “Mickey Mouse Funhouse” will be coming out during the spooky season!.

The Halloween-themed episode premieres on Wednesday, 26th September 2023 on Disney Junior at 7:00 p.m. EDT/PDT; a Dia de los Muertos-themed episode premieres Friday, 6th October 2023, on Disney Channel at 10:00 a.m. EDT/PDT and Disney Junior at 12:05 p.m. EDT/PDT; with both episodes set to be streaming shortly thereafter on Disney+.

The whimsical animated series “Mickey Mouse Funhouse” introduces preschoolers’ first pal, Mickey Mouse, and his friends — Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Pluto — to Funny, an enchanted talking playhouse, who takes the Sensational Six on adventures of all types to unique worlds that inspire the imagination. Designed to inspire kids to expand their creative play, encourage wish fulfillment and impart lessons of friendship and ingenuity, each episode features two 11-minute stories separated by a midway dance break.

In the Halloween-themed episode titled “The Curious Case of the Kooky Scientist,” premiering Sept. 26, Mickey and the gang are off to Halloweenville to see kooky scientist Von Drake’s newest invention. Then, in the episode premiering October 6th titled “Stink, Stank, Stunk! /Día de los Muertos,” Mickey and the gang discover the Grand Pumpkin and must return it to Halloweenville before it rots away, and Donald’s pal Panchito invites the gang to celebrate Día de los Muertos in Mexico City.

Geared to kids ages 2-7 and their families, “Mickey Mouse Funhouse” is a top 3 cable series with Kids 2-5, reaching 1 in 4 preschoolers across linear and streaming platforms. Each episode features two 11-minute stories with a mid-way “Stretch and Wiggle” dance break. The series demonstrates imaginative play, encourages wish fulfillment and imparts age-appropriate social and emotional lessons about friendship, creativity and ingenuity.

Phil Weinstein is executive producer and supervising director; Thomas Hart is co-executive producer and supervising story editor; Mark Drop is story editor. Emmy winner Alan Bodner serves as art director, and Steve Walby is producer. Emmy-nominated Beau Black is the series composer and co-writes the original songs with Loren Hoskins. The series is a production of Disney Television Animation.
