Disney’s D23 has announced that it will be bringing back its “Destination D23” event next summer, which will be taking place at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, from August 29th through to 31st, 2025!

At this event, D23 Gold Members will be among the first to hear exciting announcements and see sneak peeks from the many worlds of Disney—and relive favourite memories with behind-the-scenes stories, special guests, and so much more at this epic event.

More than doubling in size in 2025, fans can look forward to a weekend filled with exclusive presentations from Walt Disney Archives and the Walt Disney Studios, spectacular entertainment, and peeks into all the worlds of Disney, along with a variety of unique interactive and shopping experiences.

Generally, Destination D23 events take place in alternative years to the bigger bi-annual event, D23 Expo or D23: The Ultimate Fan Event, which is attended by over 100,000 fans, compared to only a few thousand for Destination D23.   Usually, Destination D23 is more focused on Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line news, but with the confirmation that Walt Disney Studios will be in attendance, we will likely get to see some previews and news of upcoming films and Disney+ shows.

At the Destination D23 event in 2023, guests got to see presentations on “Secrets Of The Whales” and a Disney Studio Showcase.  While in 2021, Disney revealed details of a number of new Disney+ Originals, including “Muppets Haunted Mansion” and “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”.

Disney will reveal more details, such as when tickets go on sale in the spring of 2025.

Roger’s Take:  Destination D23 is usually a must-do for die-hard Walt Disney World fans, and I’m glad that it’s been confirmed that Walt Disney Studios will be there, but based on how Disney has treated previous events, I’m not gonna lie when I say I doubt we will get anything major revealed during this event, since it’s just not on the same level as a Destination D23.  If I lived near Orlando, I’d 100% be going, but I don’t think it’s an event really aimed at entertainment fans.
