Daniel Dae Kim Signs Overall Deal With 20th Television
Disney’s 20th Television has signed a new first-look deal with Daniel Dae Kim’s 3AD production company, which is behind the hit series, “The Good Doctor”, and Amazon’s upcoming Korean series, “Butterfly”.
Daniel has previously starred in ABC’s “Lost”, “Hawaii Five-0”, “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and “The Hot Zone”.
This overall deal will see Daniel develop and executive produce comedy, drama and limited series for Disney’s linear networks such as ABC and streaming services, Hulu and Disney+.
Daniel Dae Kim said in a statement to Deadline regarding the new deal:
“With the recent 20th anniversary of the premiere of Lost, it seems only fitting to announce a return home to the place that changed my career. All of us at 3AD are thrilled to be starting this new chapter with Eric, Karey, Carolyn and the whole team at 20th Television. We look forward to creating exciting new content together and building on an already special relationship.”
According to 3AD’s official description, 3AD is committed to celebrating those voices by creating content in all media and genres featuring those who have been traditionally underrepresented. We believe in a diverse, inclusive world whose stories deserve to be told in a way that is thought provoking, challenging and above all, entertaining.
