More details on the upcoming Disney+ Original movie, “Cheaper by the Dozen” have been revealed by Discussing Film.  They are reporting that the new “reboot” of the franchise will begin filming in Los Angeles on July 13th.

This new reboot will be directed by Gail Lerner, who has previously directed multiple episodes of the ABC show, “black-ish”.    The screenplay for the film will be written by Kenya Barris and Jenifer Rice-Genzuk.

This will be the third time “Cheaper By The Dozen” has been made, the original version was released by 20th Century Fox in 1950 and starred Clifton Webb, with a remake starring Steve Martin following in 2003.  The remake also had a sequel in 2005.

Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed last year, that Disney was looking to use 20th Century Studios family franchises like “Cheaper By The Dozen” for upcoming Disney+ Original projects.

Currently none of the “Cheaper By The Dozen” movies are currently available on Disney+.
