With the actor’s strike now over, more casting details on the upcoming “American Story” spinoff limited series “American Sports Story” have been revealed by Deadline.

“American Sports Story” is a scripted anthological limited series focusing on a prominent event involving a sports figure and re-examining it through today’s world’s prism, telling that story from multiple perspectives.

The first instalment of American Sports Story is based on the podcast Gladiator: Aaron Hernandez and Football Inc. from the Boston Globe and Wondery. The limited series charts the rise and fall of NFL superstar Aaron Hernandez and explores the connections of the disparate strands of his identity, his family, his career, his suicide, and their legacy in sports and American culture.

The upcoming limited series will star Josh Andrés Rivera in the role of Aaron Hernandez, and Patrick Schwarzenegger will be playing the role of former NFL star Tim Tebow. The show will also star Lindsay Mendez and Tony Yazbeck.

Catfish Jean has joined the cast and will be playing the role of Ernest “Bo” Wallace, one of Hernandez’s friends and bad influences. Catfish Jean has previously starred in “To Leslie” and “Grey’s Anatomy”.  The actor took to social media to confirm the casting news:

Huge thanks to my incredible team @tanranman @authenticmgmt @trickrage85 @stewarttalentlosangeles Daniel, Spencer and Ellen. this is just the beginning, am I right?
