Disney has announced that it will release an Australian special called “Be Our Guest! Behind the Scenes of Beauty and the Beast: The Musical” on Disney+ in Australia and New Zealand on Friday 20th October 2023.

The twenty-one-minute documentary provides an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the “Beauty and the Beast” Musical, which is currently showing at the Capitol Theater in Sydney, Australia, and it will soon be moving to Brisbane in February 2024 and Melbourne in June 2024.

This enchanting and timeless tale has been brought to life in a reimagined production boasting all the spectacle and grandeur audiences know and love. Members of the original creative team have reunited on this breathtaking musical featuring all of the spellbinding songs of Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice including Belle, Gaston, Human Again and Be Our Guest. “Beauty and the Beast” is a much-loved classic that will fill the hearts of a new generation.

The show features an Australian principal cast that includes Shubshri Kandiah as Belle, Brendan Xavier as Beast, Rohan Browne in the role of Lumiere, Andy Cook as Gaston, Gareth Jacobs as Cogsworth, Jayde Westaby as Mrs Potts, Nick Cox as Le Fou, Rodney Dobson as Belle’s father, Maurice, Hayley Martin as Babette and Alana Tranter as Madame.

The special has already been made available on Seven Plus to stream.  It’s unlikely that this special will be released outside of Australia and New Zealand, since its primarily aimed at a local audience, to no doubt, help boost ticket sales for the musical touring Australia over the next year.
