“Avatar” Producer Confirms Big Time Jump For The Fourth Film
Disney has three more “Avatar” films in development, the third film has already been filmed, along with some of the fourth and with “Avatar: The Way Of Water” still dominating the global box office and the two films being some of the most popular films of all time, the fifth film is likely to be going ahead.
“Avatar” takes us to the amazing world of Pandora, where a man embarks on an epic adventure, ultimately fighting to save both the people he loves and the place he now calls home.
During a recent interview with Empire magazine, some new details on the sequels were revealed by “Avatar” producer Jon Landau.
The film’s director, James Cameron, has previously teased that “Avatar 3” would introduce a more antagonistic race of Na’vi, with Jon confirming that the Ash People, are “an aggressive, volcanic race” of Na’vi whose leader is Varang, played by “Game of Thrones” alum and Charlie Chaplin’s granddaughter Oona Chaplin.
“There are good humans and there are bad humans. It’s the same thing on the Na’vi side. Oftentimes, people don’t see themselves as bad. What is the root cause of how they evolve into what we perceive as bad? Maybe there are other factors there that we aren’t aware of.”
Jon Landau also confirmed that there would be “a big time jump” for the fourth film, which will then lead the Na’vi heading to Earth in the fifth film.
The third film is currently scheduled to arrive in cinemas in December 2024, with the fourth dropping in 2026 and the fifth film arriving in December 2028.
The first “Avatar” film is available to stream now on Disney+ and the sequel, “Avatar: The Way Of Water” will be heading to the streaming service later this year.
