Archie Panjabi To Star In “Doctor Who” Season 2
The new season of the British cult sci-fi series, “Doctor Who”, is set to arrive on Disney+ around the world in 2025, which will see Ncuti Gatwa return as the timelord, who travels across time and space, with adventures all the way from the Regency era in England, to war-torn future worlds. Throughout their adventures in the TARDIS – a time-traveling ship shaped like a police box – they encounter incredible friends and dangerous foes.
The upcoming second season will also see Millie Gibson return to play his companion, Ruby Sunday and will be joined by Varada Sethu, who is joining the series as the Doctor’s new co-companion, Belinda Chandra.
Deadline has revealed that Archie Panjabi has joined the cast of the upcoming series and will be playing a villain in the second season, though no character details have been revealed.
Archie Panjabi has previously starred in the Hulu/Star Original series, “Under The Bridge” and the hit show, “Snowpiercer”, along with “Bend It Like Beckham”, “San Andreas” and “Shetland”.
“Doctor Who” is produced by Bad Wolf, with BBC Studios for Disney Branded Television and BBC. Russell T Davies is the showrunner, executive producer and writer. Additional executive producers include Phil Collinson, Joel Collins, Julie Gardner and Jane Tranter.
The first season of “Doctor Who”, along with the 60th Anniversary and Christmas special are available to stream now on Disney+. A new holiday special will arrive on Disney+ on Christmas Day.
