This coming Thanksgiving, Walt Disney Animation will release its latest film, “Wish” in cinemas.  The new film introduces Asha, a sharp-witted idealist who makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force—a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, Asha and Star set out to prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen.

“Wish” stars Academy Award-winning actress Ariana DeBose (“West Side Story”) in the main role of Asha, and Chris Pine (“Into the Woods,” “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves”, will be playing the role of the ruler of Rosas, a magical kingdom where wishes really do come true.  While Alan Tudyk (“Rogue One” and “Moana”) is playing the role of Asha’s favourite goat.

Deadline has revealed that Angelique Cabral is starring in the upcoming animated film and will be playing the role of Queen Amaya opposite Chris Pine.  Angelique has previously starred in “Big Sky” and “Life In Pieces”, along with “Undone” and “Enlisted”.

The film is helmed by Oscar-winning director Chris Buck (“Frozen,” “Frozen 2”) and Fawn Veerasunthorn (“Raya and the Last Dragon”), produced by Peter Del Vecho (“Frozen,” “Frozen 2”) and co-produced by Juan Pablo Reyes (“Encanto”). Jennifer Lee (“Frozen,” “Frozen 2”) executive produces—Lee and Allison Moore (“Night Sky,” “Manhunt”) are writers on the project. With original songs by Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Julia Michaels and Grammy-winning producer/songwriter/musician Benjamin Rice, plus a score by composer Dave Metzger.

“Wish” will be released first in theatres on November 22nd 2023, and we should expect it to be released on Disney+ in early 2024.
