Andra Day Joins Disney+ Original “Percy Jackson And The Olympians” Season Two Cast
Today, during the Disney+ showcase at the D23 Brazil event at The Transamerica Expo Center in São Paulo, Brazil, it was revealed that Andra Day has joined the cast of the second season of the hit Disney+ Original series, “Percy Jackson And The Olympians”.
The next chapter in the epic story will follow best friends Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell), Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries), and Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri) as they embark on a new adventure based on The Sea of Monsters—the second instalment of Rick Riordan’s best-selling book series,
Andra will be playing the role of Athena, the Greek Goddess of Wisdom and Annabeth’s mom. Andra has previously starred “The United States vs. Billie Holiday“, which she was nominated for an Oscar for. She has also previously worked with Disney on Pixar’s “Cars 3”.
In the new season, Percy Jackson returns to Camp Half-Blood one year later to find his world turned upside down. His friendship with Annabeth is changing, he learns he has a cyclops for a brother, Grover has gone missing, and camp is under siege from the forces of Kronos. Percy’s journey to set things right will take him off the map and into the deadly Sea of Monsters, where a secret fate awaits the son of Poseidon.
The series also stars Tamara Smart, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn and Daniel Diemer.

Steinberg, season two of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is executive produced by Steinberg and Dan Shotz alongside Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Craig Silverstein, The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, The Gotham Group’s Jeremy Bell and D.J. Goldberg, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Albert Kim, Jason Ensler and Sarah Watson.
The first season of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is available to stream on Disney+ and the second season is set to be released on Disney+ in 2025.
