This summer, Disney launched a new “Throwbacks” campaign to promote the vast library of films and shows from the ’90s and early 2000s that are available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu, along with a new original podcast series and Stream.
Amazon has announced that Fire TV users around the world can now access the Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks art collection on compatible Fire TV devices, transforming your screen at home into a portal to the ’90s and early 2000s — even when you’re not streaming your favourite series or films in the Disney+ Summer “Throwbacks” Collection.
Users can rewind with the Disney+ Hulu Summer Throwbacks collection, featuring art from your favourite animated films from the 90s and 2000s, available for customers with devices that support the art gallery feature.
Whether it’s the toys having a life of their own or a determined young rat with culinary dreams, your Fire TV can now showcase stunning ambient visuals that celebrate the animated Disney and Pixar classics you grew up loving.
The Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks ambient art collection features nostalgic artwork from beloved animated films:
- Toy Story
- Monsters, Inc.
- A Bug’s Life
- The Emperor’s New Groove
- Ratatouille
- The Incredibles
- Cars
- The Proud Family Movie
To find the Disney+ Hulu Throwback experience on your Fire TV, follow these steps:
- Make sure your device supports the Fire TV Ambient Experience.
- Navigate to “Art & Photos” on your Fire TV.
- Browse the Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks collection.
- Select the entire collection to rotate as your background, or choose a single image to display.
- Let the nostalgia wash over your living room.
Roger’s Take: This is a nice little bonus feature for Fire TV users, especially if you use your TV as a background image, though it would have been cool if Disney+ had made this feature available to all users, regardless of their device type.
