With the start of a new month, unfortunately, Disney is required to remove some films from Disney+ in the United States due to a contract made by 20th Century Fox and other streamers, such as Starz and HBO, before Disney purchased the company.

The start of October has resulted in the 20th Century Studios film, “Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel”, being removed from Disney+ in the United States. Internationally, the film is still available to stream.

In this film, Chipmunk sensations Alvin, Simon and Theodore return in this hilarious “squeakquel”! When a concert mishap lands Dave in the hospital, the Chipmunks take a break from superstardom to enroll in school. But they soon face stiff competition when they meet the Chipettes — a beautiful, talented trio of chipmunks discovered by the boys’ evil ex-manager!

Unfortunately, Disney+ doesn’t inform subscribers in advance when a film or show is going to be removed from the streaming service and currently, it has not been announced if the film will be going to Starz or Max.   The good news is that once the film has completed its contract with another streamer, it will return to Disney+.

What do you think of Disney+ removing “Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel”?  Let us know on social media!
