Disney is currently in the early stages of development on a new rebooted version of “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” for Disney+.

This new live-action film will see 21 Laps and Jim Henson Company, returning to produce the film. It’s unknown if the new version will have the same plot as the original movie, however, it will have a major difference as the family will now be a multigenerational Latinx family.

According to Deadline, the new film is being written by Matt Lopez, who is also making a new version of “Father Of The Bride” for Warner Brothers with a Latino family.

Matt Lopez has already written three movies for Disney, including Bedtime Stories, Race to Witch Mountain and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, which are available on Disney+.

Disney released “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” back in 2014 and starred Steve Carell. It was only recently added to Disney+ in the United States.

In the original film, with gum stuck in his hair signals the start of a disastrous day for 11-year-old Alexander (Ed Oxenbould). One calamity follows another, but when Alexander tells his family about his misadventures, he finds little sympathy. Alexander begins to wonder if bad things happen only to him, but he soon learns that he’s not alone when his mother (Jennifer Garner), father (Steve Carell), brother (Dylan Minnette) and sister (Kerris Dorsey) all find themselves living through their own calamitous days.
