Disney’s ABC has ordered a pilot to be made for a potential new series called “Promised Land”, which is being created by Matt Lopez.

The hour-long show was previously known as “American Heritage” and is an epic, generation-spanning drama about two Latinx families vying for wealth and power in California’s Sonoma Valley.

Matt Lopez has worked with Disney on many projects before including Lopez, “Bedtime Stories”, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” and “Race to Witch Mountain”. Which can all be found on Disney+.

ABC Signature Studios is making the pilot, so should the series get the go-ahead, we should expect the series to arrive on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ as a “Star Original”.
