ABC has ordered a pilot of new multi-camera comedy “Bucktown”, which will be created by ABC Signature Studios.  This new comedy will be written and executive produced by Emily Wilson, who has recently worked as co-executive producer on the ABC “Roseanne” spin-off “The Conners.”  She has also worked on “The Kids Are All Right,” “Superior Donuts,” The Muppets” and “Cougar Town.”

“Bucktown” centers on a protagonist named Amy, who, after being dumped by her boyfriend and kicked out of her apartment on the eve of a big promotion, finds refuge at her mom’s house in the blue-collar neighborhood she grew up in (presumably, Bucktown). Amy reconnects with her teenage niece living there due to her sister’s latest rehab stint and resolves to stay when she realizes that her mom and niece aren’t entirely equipped to go it alone.

Also set to executive produce the project is Tom Werner, Sara Gilbert, Marc Provissiero and Mandy Summers.

As with all pilots, it doesn’t automatically mean it will be made into a full series.
