“A Real Pain” Coming Soon To Disney+ (UK/Ireland)
Disney has announced that the Oscar winning movie, “A Real Pain” will soon be coming to Disney+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The film tells the story of two mismatched cousins, David and Benji, reunite for a tour through Poland to honor their beloved grandmother. The adventure takes a turn when the pair’s old tensions resurface against the backdrop of their family history.

Delving into the universal themes of cultural heritage, acceptance and family relationships set against the scenic backdrop of Poland, A Real Pain has been lauded by audiences and critics alike. The film has garnered Kieran Culkin numerous Best Supporting Actor awards (including an Academy Award) as well as plaudits and awards for Jesse Eisenberg’s screenplay.
“A Real Pain” was nominated for two Academy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards. It also won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and was named one of AFI’s Top 10 Movies of 2024.
Searchlight Pictures’ “A Real Pain” arrives on Disney+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland on April 2nd 2025. The film was previously released on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States earlier this year.
Roger’s Take: I thought “A Real Pain” was an enjoyable movie and perfect for watching at home. While I certainly agree that Kieran Culkin’s performance was excellent, it might not be for everyone, which is the benefit of when movies like this arrive on Disney+, since it gives audiences a chance to try out something different.
