“The Dog Stars” Digital/4K Blu-Ray/DVD Release Details Revealed
Disney has announced details on the upcoming home video release of the 20th Century Studios film, “The Dog Stars”, which will be coming soon to digital platforms and physical media, including DVD and Blu-ray.
Based on Peter Heller’s acclaimed bestseller, Ridley Scott’s gripping vision of a post-apocalyptic world, “The Dog Stars” is set in a world where survival is instinct, but humanity is a choice. The film follows Hig (Jacob Elordi), a young pilot who, alongside military survivalist Bangley (Josh Brolin), has carved out an efficient but isolated homestead in a brutal post-apocalypticworld. When a mysterious radio transmission breaks through their solitude, Hig is compelled to venture into the unknown in search of the hope, connection and humanity he still believes exists.
The home video version will be available in stunning 4K resolution with High Dynamic Range (HDR), a wider color spectrum and immersive audio, delivering the ultimate home-viewing experience. Audiences will have a chance to set out into the world beyond with exclusive bonus content offering a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, along with never-before-seen deleted scenes.

The film will be released on digital platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home on October 27th 2026. It’ll be released on physical media including 4K Ultra HD and DVD on December 1st 2026.
Generally, Disney doesn’t announce details on the streaming release for its new films until only a week or two before the release date, in the hope of selling more digital and physical copies, but I’d expect the movie to arrive on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ internationally around the same time as when the DVD hit retailers.
