Catherine Laga’aia & Deacon Phillippe To Star In Disney+ Original ‘Spaceship Earth’

Earlier this year, it was revealed that 20th Television was developing a brand new series for Disney+ based on the iconic Disney World attraction, “Spaceship Earth”.

The new series tells the story of what happens when a mission to avert an imminent global cataclysm goes awry; a small band of teenagers from Earth’s past and future must join forces to confront a threat as vast and mysterious as time itself.

“Spaceship Earth” is being created by Jason Fuchs (IT: Welcome to Derry) and Michael Waldron (Loki), who have written the pilot and will be executive producing, with Jason also working as a showrunner on the project.

It’s been revealed by Deadline, that Catherine Laga’aia and Deacon Phillippe have joined the cast for the Disney+ Original. Catherine has recently starred in the live-action remake of “Moana” and “The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart”, while Deacon has recently starred in “Brother Save Us” and “Better Than the Movies”.

No character details have been revealed, nor any more details on when the pilot will be filmed. As with any pilot, it doesn’t necessarily mean it will get the green light to become a series, and it could be a while before the show arrives on Disney+.
