Hulu Orders “Lex” Pilot
Disney’s 20th Television is developing a brand new comedy pilot for Hulu called “Lex”, which is about a disgraced reality star who accidentally lands in the middle of a conspiracy.
According to the official logline for the show, “Lex” accidentally films a murder in the background of a $20 Cameo video. He finds himself at the centre of a global conspiracy — and on the run from powerful forces who want him dead. Using the skills he acquired navigating reality TV’s toxic social dynamics, Lex must fight to not get killed, to expose the truth, and most importantly, to get back on TV.
This new project is being developed by Sean Clements and Paul Simms, who are writing and executive producing.
Sean has recently worked on the hit Apple series, “Severance”, along with “Ash vs. Evil Dead” and “Making History”, while Paul has worked on FX’s “What We Do in the Shadows” and “Atlanta”.
As with any pilot, this is just part of the development process for the studio to iron out any creative issues, while also letting executives get a look at the potential for a show, without fully investing in a series.
No other details on this pilot, such as who will star in it, whether it will get a full series order, or when it’ll be released on Hulu and Disney+ internationally.
