20th Television Developing New YA Drama Series With Kimberly Belflower
20th Television has picked up the rights for a brand new untitled Youth-Adult drama project by Kimberly Belflower, who was behind “John Proctor Is The Villain”.
This upcoming project tells the story of a sheltered teen girl in the rural south, who, in the summer, turns 16 and has an awakening as she navigates scandal at her church and starts her first job at a waterpark. It is there where she finds a new group of friends and is pulled between feelings for a troubled hometown boy and a new kid from the city who holds the promise of a bigger future.
According to Deadline, it is being written and executive producedby Kimberly Belflower. “Dying for Sex” co-creator Kim Rosenstock will be the showrunner and executive producer on the project. Thomas Kail and Jennifer Todd will executive produce via Old 320 Sycamore. Chloe Hales and Mia Del Duca will oversee for Old 320 Sycamore.
No other details on the project have been revealed, such as when it might be coming to Hulu/Disney+ or who will star in it. It’ll likely be a while until we hear more on this project.
