“Jiaoying Summers: What Specie Are You?” Comedy Special Coming To Hulu & Hulu On Disney+

Disney continues to build out its stand-up comedy offerings for Hulu with a brand new comedy special from Jiaoying Summers, called “What Specie Are You?”.

This will be the first comedy special from comedian and actress Jiaoying Summers, and sees her dissect what makes us different and what brings us together. Drawing from her life as a Chinese American and first-generation immigrant, she tackles topics like cultural clashes, immigrant identity and motherhood, among others.

Jiaoying has taken to social media to share her thoughts about the new special:

November 8th!! My first hour special “WHAT SPECIES ARE YOU?” is set to premiere on @hulu & @disneyplus! 🐅

The special is being produced by Comedy Dynamics, with the Comedy Dynamics CEO Brian Volk-Weiss saying in a statement regarding the new special:

“Jiaoying is one of those naturally hilarious comedians that thrives on the biggest stages. Hulu is the perfect launch pad for her debut comedy special.”

According to Deadline, Jiaoying Summers has written, performed, and executive produced the special, with Volk-Weiss, Cisco Henson and her manager Carolyn Gitomer also executive producing. Samuel Brownfield directed the special.

The new comedy special will be coming to Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States on November 8th 2025. No international Disney+ release details have been announced.
