Walt Disney Animation Studios Announces New Movie “Hexed”

During today’s Walt Disney Studios Showcase Presentation at the Destination D23 event at  Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, a brand new animated film from Walt Disney Animation Studios has been announced.

The announcement was made by Jared Bush, who is the chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios, who took the stage and exclusively revealed the title, project details and a brand-new animated logo for Disney’s “Hexed” to the fired-up crowd’s delight.

In Walt Disney Animation Studios’ all-new animated film, “Hexed,” an awkward teenage boy and his Type – A mom discover that what makes him unusual, might just be magical powers that will turn their lives and a secret world of magic upside down.

The feature is directed by Josie Trinidad and Jason Hand, with Roy Conli and Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster-Jones producing.

Since the movie is still coming out late next year, we will likely not see too much about this film for a while, but it’s great to see Disney is still committed to making original movies, rather than more sequels.

Disney’s “Hexed” will be coming to theatres in November 2026 in time for Thanksgiving, and we should expect to see it released on Disney+ in 2027.
