On December 8th 2022, Disney+ is going to be introducing a brand new ad-supported tier in the United States, which will result in Disney+ offering two different tiers, Disney+ Basic (With Ads) and Disney+ Premium (No Ads).

Currently, everyone is on the Disney+ Premium tier, but monthly subscribers will need to confirm which tier they wish to continue to have.

The basic plan will be priced at $7.99 a month, which is the exact same price as it currently is.  While the Premium tier will be going up by $3 a month to $10.99.

The annual subscription in the United States will also be increasing by $30 from $79.99 to $109.99 on December 8th 2022.

Disney is planning to introduce the ad-supported tier to Disney+ around the world in 2023, and no prices have yet been announced for the international roll-out.

How To Save Money On Disney+

With the price rise coming into effect from December 8th 2022, in the United States, if you are on a monthly plan or your annual subscription is going to be expiring soon, such as all those Founders Circle members who took out a three-year deal before Disney+ launch, you’ll be best to upgrade to an annual subscription now.

As long as you take out the annual plan before December 7th 2022, you will be able to get an entire year of Disney+ Premium for the current price of $79.99.  This could save you $30 a year on an annual subscription before the price rise.

And if you currently are a monthly subscriber, if you look at getting an annual subscription now, you could save $60 a year, as long as you grab an annual subscription before the 7th of December 2022.

Alternatively, you can keep paying the same price for a monthly subscription, but you’ll have to degrade down to the ad-supported tier, which costs the same per month, $7.99.

Simply log into your account settings within Disney+ to confirm if you want to be on the Disney+ Basic (Ads) or Disney+ Premium (No Ads) monthly tier.
