95th Oscar Shortlists Announced For 10 Categories
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the shortlists in 10 categories for the 95th Academy Awards: Documentary Feature Film, Documentary Short Film, International Feature Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music (Original Score), Music (Original Song), Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, Sound and Visual Effects.
Members of the Academy will begin voting on Thursday, January 12th, 2023, and conclude on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023. The nominations for the 95th Academy Awards will be announced on Tuesday, January 24th, 2023.
Disney has had many of its films shortlisted for the Oscar nominations, including “Avatar: The Way Of Water” and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” being nominated in multiple categories, with “Doctor Strange And The Multiverse Of Madness” getting a visual effects nod. While National Geographic’s “Retrograde”, “Fire Of Love”, and “The Territory” all made the selection in the documentary category. “Le Pupille” also made the shortlist in the shorts category. While the 20th Century Studios films, “Amsterdam” and “The Banshees of Inisherin” also got a nod.
The 95th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 12th, 2023, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised live on ABC and in more than 200 territories worldwide.
