20th Television Developing “Suspect” Series For Hulu
20th Television is developing a brand-new drama series for Hulu based on Scott Turow’s novel, “Suspect”, which is being created by the team behind “The Handmaid’s Tale”, Marissa Jo Cerar and Bruce Miller and producer-director Matt Shakman.
This new series follows Pinky, a private investigator who searches for evidence to exonerate a female police chief accused of extorting sex from male officers in exchange for job promotions.
It will be written by Marissa Jo Cerar, who will executive produce along with Bruce, Matt and Scott, with MGM also involved in the project. Marissa has previously worked with Disney on “Women Of The Movement” and “Black Cake”, along with the new “Handmaid’s Tale” spin-off series, “The Testaments”.
Matt Shakman has previously worked with Disney on “Fantastic Four: First Steps” and “WandaVision”, plus he will be making an upcoming “Planet Of The Apes” film. He has also worked on the Godzilla/King Kong series, “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” and Hulu’s “The Great”.
Unfortunately, no other details on the new series, such as who might star in it, or when it’s likely to be released on Hulu and Disney+.
As with any project in development, things can change, such as the creative team behind the project, and it might not necessarily hit our screens, but hopefully, it won’t be long until this show hits Hulu and Disney+.
