20th Television Developing New “Conviction” Series

20th Television is developing a brand new drama series for Hulu based on Jack Jordan’s novel “Conviction” and according to Variety, Elisabeth Moss is attached to the project to play the lead role.

The book was published back in 2023 and tells the story of a Criminal defense attorney Neve Harper, a confident lawyer, finally has her shot at a career-making case: a high-profile murder where the husband is accused of killing his wife by setting their home on fire. But when a mysterious stranger begins blackmailing Neve, she is forced to compromise every legal, moral, and ethical obligation to gain an acquittal – or else risk her dark secrets being exposed.

This new series is being adapted by David Shorem, who will also serve as showrunner and executive producer, who producing under his Shore Z Productions banner along with Erin Gunn.

Elisabeth Moss has previously starred in FX’s “The Veil” and the hit series, “Handmaid’s Tale”. She will also be an executive producer on the project, under her Love & Squalor Pictures banner, teaming once again with Warren Littlefield, from The Littlefield Co.

The book’s author, Jack Jordan, is also an executive producer, as are Ann Johnson and Lisa Harrison of The Littlefield Co. Bert Salke executive produces via Co-Lab21 along with Lindsey McManus of Love & Squalor. 20th Television is the studio.

As with any project in development, this show might not necessarily come to anything and might not be made, nor do we have any details on when we should expect it to be released on Hulu/Disney+, should it get made.
