20th Century Studios Gives “Send Help” A Theatrical Release
20th Century Studios is developing a new horror-thriller movie called “Send Help”, which is being directed and produced by Sam Raimi, who has worked on the “Evil Dead” franchise and original “Spider-Man” trilogy.
The upcoming movie is described as a survival horror thriller about two colleagues who become stranded on a deserted island, the only survivors of a plane crash. On the island, they must overcome past grievances and work together to survive, but ultimately, it’s a battle of wills and wits to make it out alive.
The official description for the film states that after a plane crash strands a capable female employee and her annoying boss on a remote island, she must use her survival skills to keep them both alive, despite their challenging relationship.
This new movie will star Rachel McAdams, Dylan O’Brien, Dennis Haysbert and Chris Pang.
“Send Help” is being written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, who previously worked on the “Baywatch” film. Zainab Azizi will also produce under the Raimi Productions banner.
It’s been announced that the film will get a theatrical release in cinemas from January 30th, 2026 and we can expect the film to eventually head to Disney’s streaming services, Hulu and Disney+ a few months later. We are starting to see 20th Century Studios release more of its films in cinemas first before hitting Hulu and Disney+, as a way of generating more revenue and also generally, films perform better on the streaming service after a theatrical release.
