Last year, Disney announced that their new streaming service, Disney+ would see the return of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series and new live action series, The Mandalorian.

However with no official launch date for Disney+ being announced, it wasn’t clear if these Star Wars shows would be available this year or at a later date.

Entertainment Weekly has recently reported that both these series, The Clone Wars and the Mandalorian, will be released in 2019.    The report also indicates that The Mandalorian’s premiere will coincide with the launch of Disney+.  However no official dates have yet been announced by Disney.

2019 is going to be a huge year for Star Wars fans, we have these two new series, plus Episode 9 hits cinemas in December plus the new themed area, Galaxy’s Edge will be opening at Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

Disney+ will also have another new Star Wars series, based on Captain Cassian Andor from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.   But this show isn’t set to go into production until late 2019.

Having these new Star Wars series on Disney+ within its launch period will be a major selling point to get people to subscribe, especially if the Mandalorian is available at launch.

Do you think The Mandalorian will be available for Disney+’s launch?
