Disney+ Reveals “Star Wars: Ahsoka” Season 2 Release Window
It’s been two years since Disney released a sketch from Dave Filoni confirming that there would be a second season of the hit Disney+ series, “Star Wars: Ahsoka”. Since then, we’ve not had too much information on the new season, other than hearing that production wrapped late last year.
Set after the fall of the Empire, “Star Wars: Ahsoka” follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.
“Ahsoka” stars Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ray Stevenson, Ivanna Sakhno, Diana Lee Inosanto, David Tennant, Lars Mikkelsen and Eman Esfandi.
There has been speculation that the second season of “Ahsoka” was going to arrive on Disney+ in 2026, after months of post-production to get the show ready for Disney+, with special effects, etc. However, the show was left off all of Disney’s press materials highlighting what’s coming to Disney+ in 2026, leading many, including myself, to have doubts that a 2026 release was happening and perhaps, the show had been bumped back into 2027.
With the New Year underway, Disney+ has updated its homepage, highlighting some of the shows coming to the streaming platform in 2026, and it lists “Ahsoka” as a 2026 release.
No other official details have been revealed, but I still wouldn’t be surprised if the second season drops very late in 2026, or possibly slides into the next year at the last minute, like we’ve seen with other major titles in the past.
While we’ve seen many live-action Star Wars shows released over the years on Disney+, moving forward, we are going to be getting fewer titles, as Lucasfilm refocuses its efforts on theatrical releases such as the upcoming “Mandalorian & Grogu” and “Starfighter” movies.
Star Wars fans still have two other titles to look forward to watching on Disney+ this year, with two animated shows, including a “Visions” spin-off and a new show about Darth Maul.
Since there is no Star Wars Celebration event this year, we will have to wait a little longer to get more details on “Ahsoka”, perhaps at this summer’s D23: Ultimate Fan Event.
The first season of “Ahsoka” is available to stream on Disney+.
