Walt Disney Studios Heads To Spain To Promote “VisionQuest” & Upcoming Films

Over the weekend, Walt Disney Studios headed to Spain for some panels in Hall M at FYCMA (Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga) in Málaga, to share details with over 3000 fans in attendance about some of their upcoming films and shows.

One of the headline shows being promoted at the event was the Disney+ Original, “VisionQuest”, an all-new original series coming exclusively to Disney+ on October 14th, which concludes the epic trilogy that began with 2021’s groundbreaking, award-winning “WandaVision” and 2024’s acclaimed “Agatha All Along,” was a big hit in the room. Vision himself, Paul Bettany, came to the stage to talk about the upcoming series and introduce an exclusive montage, as well as the first 22 minutes of episode 1.

Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponise him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron. His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son, reincarnate. As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron’s influence, and unravel the enigma that is his young companion if he’s to survive.

Attendees were treated to a special recorded message from Anthony and Joe Russo, the directors of “Avengers: Doomsday,” who introduced a surprise appearance from three of the film’s stars: Anthony Mackie, David Harbour, and Winston Duke: Sam Wilson/Captain America, Alexei/Red Guardian, and M’Baku, respectively. The trio spoke about the eagerly anticipated sequel before screening an extended trailer.

In “Avengers: Doomsday,” beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.  “Avengers: Doomsday” will be released in theaters on December 18th, 2026 and on Disney+ in the first half of 2027.

Special footage from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ all-new magical coming-of-age saga, “Disney’s Hexed,” was screened for the room. The film is about an impulsive and unconventional teenage girl named Billie (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld), who discovers secret magical abilities which, once unleashed, hurtle her into a spectacle-filled journey out of suburbia and into a vast witch realm called Hexe. Forced to team up with her cautious mother, Alice (voiced by Rashida Jones), they uncover family mysteries that could change the world of witches forever.  “Disney’s Hexed” opens exclusively in cinemas on November 25th, 2026 and will be coming to Disney+ in early 2027.

Footage from Disney and Pixar’s original animated adventure “Gatto” was also screened for the enthusiastic crowd. The film is about a scrappy black cat Nero (voiced by Mark Ruffalo), who begins to question whether he’s lived the right lives after years of manoeuvring the canal-ridden, superstitious city of Venice, Italy. Indebted to Rocco (voiced by Laurence Fishburne), the ruthless local feline mob boss, Nero finds himself in a quandary and is forced to forge a truly unexpected friendship that may finally lead him to his purpose – unless Venice gets the better of him first. “Gatto” releases exclusively in theatres March 5th, 2027 and it’ll also be heading to Disney+ a few months later.

Fans were shown a special look at “Ice Age: Boiling Point,” the dinosaur-and-lava-filled madcap adventure that takes Manny (voiced by Ray Romano), Sid (voiced by John Leguizamo), Diego (voiced by Denis Leary), Ellie (voiced by Queen Latifah), Buck (voiced by Simon Pegg), acorn-obsessed Scrat – this time joined by Baby Scrat and the enormous Jurassic Scrat – and the rest of the herd to visit never-before-seen corners of the treacherous Lost World.   The next instalment in the “Ice Age”  franchise arrives in theatres on February 5th, 2027 and will be coming to Disney+ a few months later.

The stars from the upcoming survival thriller ‘Whalefall,’ Austin Abrams and Josh Brolin, along with director/co-writer/producer Brian Duffield, came to the stage to speak to BBC1’s Ali Plumb about the epic film based on the acclaimed novel about one young man’s encounter with a massive sperm whale. The discussion ended with a special look at a heart-pounding clip.
